Green smoothie amber separation

--
7-8 large leaves of comfrey and fresh mint (both from Jet's garden)
1/4 honeydew melon
1 happy mango
chunk of pineapple
3 cups of water
-
a peculiar thing happened after I made my green smoothies for the day, they separated out into green fibre and amber liquid, I'm guessing it has something to do with comfrey and lack of emulsifying bananas. It tastes really good though!

Stickyweed paw paw smoothie

I managed to save a little of yesterdays paw paw for this mornings green smoothie. I chose stickyweed for this mornings harvest as I haven't ventured into it's culinary potential other than a little nibble yesterday
--
1/6 yellow paw paw
Small handful of stickyweed, garden lettuce and fresh mint leaves
1/6 avocado
1 cup of water
Dash of lemon juice

"I'm drinking the garden"

This morning I made a green smoothie that was overly delicious, I'm not sure how it happened but it was completely due to a dill like herb I found in the garden. I don't usually like dill (perhaps due to making fairly average potato salad with fresh dill in one of my kitchen jobs many years ago), but whatever this plant is growing in my garden it is phenomenal.
--
2 cups of water
Handful of celery leaves (and a little of the stalks from up the top
near the leaves)
1 small pink lady apple
handful of milk thistle
Dill??
1/4 avocado

Daikon green smoothie

these beautiful daikons were grown in the Ceres market garden. I love it when you buy vegetables and the greens are still attached.
I made up a big batch of green smoothie this morning and filled a few glass bottles for the rest of the day.

--
3/4 bunch daikon raddish greens (greens from 2 raddishs)
2 large stalks of celery
3 small pink lady apples
1 orange (peel removed)
juice of 1/2 a lime and 1/2 a lemon
5 cups of water
1 banana as an after thought to bring it together.

This was quite a thin smoothie, with more water than thickness, and a lot more fruit than I would normally have. I have noticed if you don't drink it right away the bitter flavour seems to intensify a little over the day and so adding more fruit helps this.

A grounding thrill

Purple stemmed kale and fresh coriander my friend Isaac got from the community garden he is working in
A small organic Fuiji apple and banana
Squeeze of lemon
A cup of water

Get garden in

a morning green smoothie
--
Chickweed, milk thistle, lemon thyme
1/2 avocado
1/4 cup walnut milk
2 tsp coconut oil
7 tsp carob powder
1 tsp agave
1 and 1/2 cups water
This was almost awesome, a little gritty and fiborous, would have been good with some lemon and a bit less chickweed

Garden Love Smoothie

My friend Marlo came over for lunch, we wandered around the garden admiring the gravity defying cabbage bulb growing high above the ground on a long thin stem and a growing world in motion. Marlo picked a bowlful of greens and flowers and we blended it with coconut water (young Thai coconut strikes again, thankyou universe for our fresh coconut present) a banana, an avocado and a tangelo.

Really not hungry smoothie

Last night and this morning I made two very similar smoothies. They
were light, easy to drink and nutritious.
--
4-5 leaves of sorrel
Big handful of chickweed
1 banana
3-4 tbs of organic coconut cream (not raw)
1 cup of water
--
Milk thistles, nettles and broccoli leaves
1 banana
3-4 tbs coconut cream
1 cup of water

-
Yesterday i ate mostly parsley and raw carrots and wasnt particulary
hungry. I think my body is facilitating a subconscious detox. I found
put yesterday that parsley stems have a similiar affect to chewing
gum. They are really fiborous and a mission to chew through, but
stimulate saliva and digestive enzymes and give your jaw the workout
it misses through having too many smoothies.

* I am typing this post on my phone while riding on the bus, a man
just got on with a trolley and big sack full of freshly harvested
nettles. He must have picked them from down by the Merri Creek
somewhere, I wonder what he is going to make with that many nettles?
Perhaps I should have a nettle party soon, my patch is getting a little
out of control.

Rock-App-Avo Smoothie

Morning smoothie
--

One medium sized pink lady apple from local Red Hill Farm
1/2 an avocado

Rocket greens and flowers from Josiane's garden
1 and 1/2 cups of water

this was deliciously satisfying and has put my brain and body back on track

Bus stop smoothie

Green smoothie takeaway. Sometimes I make a smoothie minutes before I
need to leave. I blend, somewhat haphazardly, pour it into a jar and
run out the door.

Milk thistle coconut smoothie

I haven't been overly into the Thai drinking coconut craze, mostly because of the very high food miles and very low price (indicating non fair trade). I know they are delicious and so so very good for you, but so are lots of things, and this isn't the tropics. But sometimes you do these things, and you buy a coconut from the supermarket for $1.78 and you celebrate and rejoice and really enjoy the choice you've made.
--
Lots of freshly harvested milk thistles
Fresh coconut water and half of the flesh
A banana
And then add more greens - young cos lettuce, parsley and spicy rocket
until flavour is balanced.

To my good fortune Lex turned up and happily drank half of this smoothie, the celebration of mystical far away things is better when sharing
